Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Caervo (“Caervo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Caervo mobile application (the “App”). The App is operated by Isaiah Colson, an individual.
Caervo helps you keep track of maintenance for the things you own, such as your home and your vehicles. We collect only what the App needs to do that. We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us
Account information. When you create an account, we collect:
- Email address and password, if you sign up with email. Your password is stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider. We never see it in plain text.
- Sign in with Apple or Google: if you use one of these, we receive the information that provider shares with us. This is usually your email address (which may be a private relay address if you choose “Hide My Email” with Apple), a unique account identifier, and your first name if you choose to share it.
- First name, if you give one. The App uses it to greet you on screen and in reminders.
Information about the things you maintain. When you use the App, you may enter:
- Homes and properties: a nickname, whether you own or rent it, its property type, and what equipment and features it has (for example, whether it has a garage or a septic system). We do not ask for the address.
- Vehicles: a nickname, make, model, year, fuel type, transmission, drivetrain, how often it’s exposed to road salt, and an estimate of how many miles you drive each week.
- Mileage readings: odometer readings you log for your vehicles, and when you logged them.
- Maintenance items and history: the upkeep tasks you track, their schedules, due dates and how important each one is to you, and records of completed work, including the date, mileage, and any optional notes and costs you add.
The App does not use GPS or your device’s location services.
Feedback. If you send feedback from inside the App, we receive the text you write and the App version you’re using. Feedback is stored without your name, email, or account identifier, so we cannot link it back to you unless you include identifying details in the text yourself.
Information stored on your device
- A copy of your account data. To keep the App fast and to limit how much data it transfers, the App keeps a copy of your account data (homes, vehicles, maintenance items, completions, and mileage readings) in a database on your device. This copy is deleted from the device when you sign out or delete your account.
- Preferences. Your appearance choice (light, dark, or system) and your notification settings are stored only on your device.
- Time zone. The App reads your device’s time zone so reminders go out at the right local time. It is used only on your device and is not sent to us.
Information we do not collect
The App does not collect:
- Your precise or approximate location from your device
- Contacts, calendar, photos, microphone, or camera data
- Advertising identifiers, or any data for tracking you across other apps or websites
- Usage analytics or crash reports sent to third parties
- Payment information (the App has no purchases at this time)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information only to:
- Create and secure your account and sign you in
- Store and sync your homes, vehicles, and maintenance records so they’re available when you sign in
- Work out when maintenance is due, including mileage-based estimates
- Suggest maintenance tasks that fit your property or vehicle
- Schedule reminder notifications on your device
- Read and respond to feedback and improve the App
- Keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build marketing profiles.
3. Notifications
Caervo reminders are local notifications. Your device schedules them from the data already on it. We do not run a push notification server, and reminder content is not sent through any third-party messaging service. You can turn each kind of reminder on or off in the App’s Notifications screen, or turn all Caervo notifications off in your iPhone’s Settings.
4. How Your Information Is Stored and Shared
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We share information only with the service providers that run the App, and only as needed to provide it:

Your data is stored on Supabase’s servers in the United States (Supabase’s West US (Oregon) region). Supabase processes it on our behalf under its own privacy policy and data processing terms.
We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order, or when needed to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others. If Caervo is ever part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. If so, we will notify you and this policy will continue to apply to your information.
5. Data Security
Your data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS). Access rules on our database let only your signed-in account read or change your records. No one else using the App can see them. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
6. Data Retention
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, your account and all data tied to it (homes, vehicles, maintenance items, completions, and mileage readings) are permanently deleted from our database. Residual copies may remain in backups for a limited period, as set by our hosting provider.
Feedback is stored without an account identifier, so it isn’t deleted along with your account. We delete feedback after we’ve reviewed it, and keep it no longer than 90 days.
7. Your Choices and Rights
- Access and correct: you can view and edit everything you’ve entered directly in the App.
- Delete individual records: you can delete homes, vehicles, and other records in the App.
- Delete your account: you can delete your account at any time from the App’s More tab. This permanently deletes your account and all of its data. If you signed in with Apple, deleting your account also revokes Caervo’s access to your Apple ID.
- Notifications: you can turn reminders off in the App or in iPhone Settings.
- Other requests: to ask for a copy of your data, or to make any other privacy request, contact us using the details in Contact Us.
Depending on where you live (for example, California under the CCPA/CPRA, or the European Economic Area and the UK under the GDPR), you may have additional rights: to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to not be discriminated against for using these rights. We will respond to verified requests within the time the applicable law requires. If you are in the EEA or UK, the legal bases for our processing are performing our contract with you (providing the App), our legitimate interests (security and improving the App), and your consent where the law requires it. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Caervo is offered in the United States only for now, so we have not appointed a representative in the EEA or UK.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us using the details in Contact Us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
Caervo is offered in the United States only for now. If you use the App from outside the country where our servers are located, your information will be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States. By using the App, you understand that your information may be handled under the data protection laws of that country, which may differ from those where you live.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will tell you in the App or by other reasonable means before they take effect, and we will update the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
